A lovely 'fat lava' era large and colourful vase by Carstens Tönnieshof, West Germany. Apx 1960s-1970s mid century vintage, it maintains its original gold paper label.

Glossy blue with teal green and deep yellow stripes along horizontal stripes/ridges with 'zigzag' like patterns in between. Nice simple mid century shaping, cylinder shaped. Glossy dark brown inner. Stamped on base with Carstens logo and 'W-Germany. E4-30'. The 30 denotes 30cm tall (well, 31cm), E4 is the pattern/design. 31cm x 13.5cm wide x 9cm wide inner rim. A good larger statement size, suitable for dozens of taller statement stems - for the floor as well as a sideboard.

It's in very good condition with just one small baseline chip.
