A beautiful large solid glass bird, designed by Bertil Vallien for Boda Afors, Sweden in the 1960s/1970s (Boda later became Kosta Boda).

He's the larger one of two sizes, 11cm tall. High quality, bright and clear solid art glass. Handmade - blown in to a mould - undoubtedly with a high crystal content glass. He's fully hand signed to the base 'Boda Afors' then probably 'Bruk' - it's hard to read. He maintains his original gold paper Boda sticker too. Beautifully decorated with Nordic-looking raised patterns; concentric lines, ripples, dots, etc.

11cm x 6.5cm, he weighs a chunky 910 grams. Excellent condition. He has a sharp area of moulding under the base, from manufacture. Perfect gift idea - a hard to find item.
