Vintage Baldelli pig #813 Italian ceramic/pottery. Retro green glazed figurine. 1960s mid century Italy. Flower arranging frog/posy vase pot

A beautiful vintage pottery/ceramic pig figurine. Made in Italy and stamped/signed to the base 'Baldelli Italy 813'. I believe this little fellow is 1960s vintage, and he is simply hand-decorated and is in a mid-century style. He's a curiosity - rather than being a piggy bank he has nine round holes to make him a flower arranging frog or a pen holding pot (the piggy bank version is #812).

Pottery/ceramic shaped pig. Glossy speckled deep malachite-green glaze with black trim (hard to photo due to reflections). He's been decorated by hand, with cute little eyes and nose. Pale clay base.

9cm tall x 12cm long x 9cm deep. Good for age and era - he's around 50 years old. As you can see, he has a small slither chip to the top of his snout (and a tiny one underneath). Some other small signs of age, but no cracks. A hard to find item, more for display for a grown-up than for a child's toy - although it would look great out of reach in a nursery! Perfect for a mid-century home.
