Vintage 1973 Sterling silver 925 cufflinks by FA. Modernist West German 1970s mid-century. Fully hallmarked, rectangular. Retro pair, op art

A super pair of 1970s cufflinks by 'FA' from West Germany. 925 grade solid Sterling silver - they weigh 12g together. Hallmarked to one side of the posts with a London import mark, then '925', followed by the date letter 's' - s is 1973. The other side of the posts have 'Sterling Silver' and the maker's logo 'FA' on. (See last two photos). I had the original jewellery box so I know they were West German origin.

Mid century era and very much in a Modernist and op art style (with machine cut concentric geometric linear patterns and simple shiny areas). They're a rectangular shape. They have a toggle or bullet back/fastening, see pics.

Each is 2.2cm x 1.3cm to the front, and quite flat and slim. Great for age, both have an angled stem/post and a back toggle; both toggles work well. Perfect for a 1970s fan and for someone born in 1973. The photos don't do them justice - they're a great silver-coloured Modernist retro look.
