Vintage 1950s Denby Jamaica lidded casserole dish pan + atomic stand. Oven to tableware, serving. Mid century Langley Mill ceramic stoneware
A mid century lidded triangular casserole or oven dish, by Denby Stoneware, England. Circa 1950s.
The name of the design is Jamaica - it's a series of hand painted tropical fruit with black outlines, predominantly yellow and deep pinky red. The design was also made by Langley Mill, but this is the Denby version.
It's an 'oven to tableware' pan, so is a heavy stoneware type pottery. Stylised Scandinavian style graphics all round externally. Base colour glaze is white and deep pinky red. Both a useable kitchen item and a collectable decorative pan - ideal for both oven cooking/baking and serving.
This comes with its original stand. Black plastic-coated metal with three rubber feet - all very much atomic 1950s styling!
Pan: the triangle is apx 7" x 7". It's 27cm long with the handle. 6cm tall, 10cm tall with the lid on. Would hold about 2-3 portions of a main or 4-6 portions of a pudding (or a big individual bake). Pan is in excellent condition for the age and era. No crazing or chips, very clean inside. Stamped to base with the logo.
The stand: 32cm x 15cm wide x 14cm tall. The hard to find original vintage stand shows some ageing and has some rust patches.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
