An original and unused boxed Viners Sable 'cake lift', ref L484/351.
A good sized cake slicer or knife/lifter/server, vintage 1960s.
I'm pretty sure it's unused, would probably have been a wedding gift in the 1960s and kept 'for best'.

Designed by Gerald Benny, Des, RCA in the 1960's for Viners, Sheffield, England. The silver/goldsmith was influenced by Scandinavian minimalism, as you can tell from the simple retro design.
This stylish server has a Modernist lightly textured linear pattern on the handle. Original retro packaging. High quality.

The stainless steel server is 25cm long.

Excellent condition item with no signs of use and a very good shine. Stamped to the back 'Viners of Sheffield, England, Stainless Steel'. Any marks on it are my finger prints! Box is used but very good for age - red outer box has fab retro graphics, black velvet covered plastic molded inner with gold 'plaque'.

Very collectable unused example.
