Tapio Wirkkala, Iittala #3503 rare vase. Vintage 1961-1965, matte & cased white. Fine linear rib textured. Finland/Finnish. Frosted glass.

A very rare and hard to find Tapio Wirkkala vase for Iittala, Finland.

Featured on p331 of 'Tapio Wirkkala, A Poet in Glass and Silver'. Model no 3503.
It was designed in 1961 by Wirkkala, and was produced from 1961 to 1965 by Iittala.
It's fixed blown glass, cut rim and acid matted exterior (frosted glass).
This version is made further rarer by the white casing inside the frosted clear exterior.
The design is an irregular but distinctive shape with a small vertical random ribs top to bottom.

No label and not signed (well, it may have been before the acid etching treatment!)

Great condition for age, no chips or marks.
Some tiny teeny nibbles along the baseline (probably from manufacture), due to the sharp right angles.

125mm tall. 8.5cm x 5cm wide (max).
