Tamara Aladin Riihimaki 'Tulppaani' Tulip hooped vase #1516. Scandinavian vintage retro 1960s/70s. 20cm/8" cased pale amber yellow art glass

A striking art glass vase, by Tamara Aladin for Riihimäen Lasi Oy / Riihimaki, Finland.

Most likely a 1960s design and of a 60s or 70s vintage. It is a pale yellow/straw/pale amber colour and is cased in clear glass at the base. It is a cylinder vase with a series of wider hoops around the middle. Mouth blown in to a mould - it is design no 1516 and known as a Tulppaani or Tulip vase.

20cm x 9.5cm wide max at largest hoop. Cylinder is 6cm wide.

Really good condition for age/era. No chips, impact marks, sharp areas etc. Rim is excellent. Base shows some signs of its age, as you'd expect. There are a few natural internal bubbles near the bottom, see pics. I'd give it a 9/10 - great example and stunning on display!
