Sterling silver 925 Modernist pendant & necklace. Vintage/retro 1980s jewellery hallmarked 1984. Oval onyx stone, cabochon. 24" leather cord

A beautiful 1980s vintage Modernist necklace. It is hallmarked on the reverse, but it's hard to read. I believe it says: RJH [the maker/artist], then a Britannia symbol, a lion's head and a capital italic 'K'... so London 1984. (Please correct me if you think differently). It does look mid 80s style to me.

The sizable statement pendant is a curved simple scoop, long and elegant. There's an oval black onyx stone (or similar black stone) in a cabachon setting (flat base, simple mount with silver surround). The pendant starts as two parallel tubular lines and lightly curves outwards and flattens. Minimal and beautiful. It has a simple hook for a chain to the reverse. I've put a replacement 1mm round leather cord on this, making it instantly wearable. This is currently 24" but can be shortened.

Pendant is a very decent 53 x 24mm. All in fab wearable condition, the pendant is just the right size - big enough to make a Modernist statement, yet be stylish and classy with any outfit. Perfect to go with a little black dress.
