Stavangerflint Norway Viking plate. Vintage 1960s pottery/ceramic/china. Ornamental wall hanging plaque picture/art. Kåre Berven Fjeldsaa

A hard to find vintage and collectable Stavangerflint (Norway) ornamental plate.

It's a rounded triangular shape ceramic plate, with a stylised Viking on horseback design. Off-white background glaze, with areas of tan brown, teal, yellow and lime green hand painted within the black outlines. This Viking collection was designed by Kåre Berven Fjeldsaa for Stavangerflint AS as part of a character-themed set of Viking designs. Norwegian ceramist Kåre Berven Fjeldsaa (1918-1991) acted as head of design for Stavangerflint AS, Norway, from 1958-1968. So circa 1960s mid century. Stamped to the reverse with the logo.

The plate is lightly curved and small, so also suitable as a dish. There's two small holes to the reverse for a hanging wire for displaying on the wall. 18cm wide x 2.5cm deep.

Excellent condition.
