A signed pottery vessel...

A handmade (wheel thrown) lidded pitcher jug, bottle, or vase. It's signed in ink to the base but I've not been able to identify the artist - it's an artist or studio pottery piece. Signature looks like SB, or fB. Most likely British. Of a certain vintage, but all an unknown really.

It's a deep red clay with a matt black or brown/black glazed lower section and a glossy black upper section. The rim and inner neck is a mottled off-white. Beautifully shaped, a perfect accent for interior design. Perfectly usable as a pitcher jug or sake bottle, as well as a vase.

23cm tall with lid on; 21.5cm tall if used as a vase. 12cm wide at its belly.

Very good condition. Great on display, a curious handmade piece.
