A stunning and unique artist produced sculptural artwork for the wall.
It's 'signed' bottom left, but the signature is abstract and stylised and I've not been able to identify it, but something like HOJI.
I think it's by someone very competent and accomplished, someone who knew what they were doing and how to balance the composition.
This wall hanging is mounted on a circular wooden board, stained black.
I'm guessing at 1980s, but it may be older or more recent. It's hard to age.

The raw clay/pottery has been skillfully fanned out to form wing-like shapes.
Contrasting organic looking cups and balls have been deliberately placed to balance the artwork (can see fingerprints).
These components have been carefully painted matte blue with black low-lights, probably after firing.
There are then four smooth 'holes' which have been glazed inside with deep orange/red glaze - the only bit which shines. A lovely striking contrast.
The artwork is on a raw circular pottery/clay base, which has been treated differently again - with fine grass like linear imprints.

It's fascinating! Lots to look at, lots of textures, and lots of skill and thought involved.

The back has a 1" splinter gouge, which is not noticeable on display, unless you look from the side (see last two pics).
Hangs beautifully and displays really well.
Just shy of 40cm wide (mounted). No noticeable chips.

Very striking and quite a conversation piece.
Suitable for any retro, contemporary or art collector's interior.

Price includes courier - it's very heavy!
