Pukeberg Swedish art glass solifleur stem/bud vase, Uno Westerberg. Clear crystal block. Scandinavian vintage retro 1970s. Modernist, labels

A lovely Modernist art glass block, made by Pukeberg, Sweden. It's a solid and heavy square with a narrow water holding hole to the top (to hold a single stem flower or a slim candle), and a series of curious sculptural concave shapes. The block maintains its original 'Pukeberg Sweden' plastic sticker. And also a sticker to the side which states "Design Uno Westerberg", so designed by Uno Westerberg. Mostly likely 1970s vintage.

Bright clear sparkly moulded glass, undoubtedly with a crystal content, in a Modernist Scandinavian style. Ice-like and with flat cut sides, it is a sizeable 14 x 12 x 5cm and weighs over 2kg. The deliberate undulating moulding lines, ripples and bubbles look very much like the Arkipelago series by Timo Sarpaneva for iittala.

Pukeberg is one of Sweden’s oldest glass works (1871) and is situated in Nybro, Smlland, and is a part of what is known as the Glasriket (Kingdom of glass) in Sweden.

Very good clean condition, with no chips or sharp areas. There is an internal crack line (which may well be part of the ripples) inside the top opening out of sight which will not effect functionality. It displays beautifully - more a statement sculpture than a vase or candle holder. Also useable as a bookend or paperweight.

Includes P&P to the UK. UK only due to weight, sorry.
