Portmeirion Pottery Totem olive green 6" kitchen storage pot/jar/container, Susan Williams-Ellis vintage 60s/70s. Retro/vintage kitchenalia
A fab Portmeirion Pottery Totem storage jar, most likely for sugar, or loose tea, coffee, rock salt, peppercorns etc. Lidded with original wooden bung - the seal works really well. Dark olive green with lighter green or white raised textured external abstract patterns. Designed by Susan Williams-Ellis in the 1960s or so, so likely to be 60s or 70s era. Retro styling.
An 'inbetween' size - suitable for bigger herb and spice quantities or sugar, loose tea etc. 15.5cm tall x 8cm wide, excluding bung. Not stamped to the base. It does have the defined space on one side for a small sticky identification label on the neck. It has an ultra shiny glaze so any marks on the photos are reflections.
Very clean and shiny with no chips, cracks or crazing - as good as you'll find and glaze is as originally manufactured. Good lid too, it's a dense reddy hardwood and unvarnished - there are some small surface marks. Overall, hardly used and excellent condition. Very usable and displayable.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
