Stylish Modernist Old Hall vacuum flask from the Super Avon range. The Super Avon range was designed by Robert Welch in around 1966 and comprised of three taller Avon-range items: the rare vacuum flask, a coffee pot and a water jug. The glass-lined flask and open-topped water jug are hard to find. It's model number 43851. The flask has a glass lining made by British company Aladdin (designed to able to be easily removed via the base). The thermal jug is designed to be used alongside the Avon range's sugar bowl and cream jug.

High quality vintage item in a heavier gauge satin 18/8 stainless steel. Made in England by Old Hall, stamped underneath with the Old Hall/Robert Welch logo. Stunning mid century minimalist design (inspired by the Scandinavian designs like Cylinda Line by Arne Jacobsen), with straight tapered sides and neat simple lines.

Very good condition - fully functional and perfect for a collector. I tested it for 2 hours with boiling water and it held the temperature, however, being 50+ years old the rubber bung has deteriorated a tiny bit so leaves a residue if actually used with steaming hot water. More suited to keeping ice cold water freezing cold. The bung on the lid does form a good seal.

A good size: 10.5" or 26.5cm tall (13cm tall max with knob). 12cm wide at the base. It's heavy due to the glass vacuum lining - weighing 1.5kg.
