Murano Mandruzzato multi-faceted bowl/dish/ashtray, vintage retro 60s/70s art glass. Unusual plum/blue/amber sommerso. Mid century MCM oval
An unusual Murano sommerso art glass dish. Made in Italy, most likely Mandruzzato.
It's an octagonal oval from above, with pentagon shaped cut (faceted) sides, tapering down to a octagonal base.
There's 24 cut sides (8x3), which reflect the light in an amazing way.
It's plum purple internally with a layer of lilac blue floating colour (sommerso). The outer glass is deep golden amber.
I'm guessing it's early 1970s as it's typical colouring from that era (purple and orange).
Hand made.
Apx 12 x 11.5 x 6.5cm.
900g - a chunk of thick glass.
Overall fab condition...
A couple of hard to spot pin-prick nibbles and a pin head sized graze.
Base is clean and flat and polished and in great condition.
A floating spot of debris internally near base from time of manufacture.
See photos. Very displayable collectable example.
Includes P&P to the UK.
