Murano Mandruzzato faceted block vase. Vintage red/amber sommerso art glass, retro Italian. Hexagon, cut faces. 1960s Mid century. Small 6"

A virtually perfect example of a Murano sommerso faceted art glass block vase, most likely by Mandruzzato, Murano, Italy. Vintage 1960s/1970s mid-century iconic design - unsure of exact vintage of this example, probably 1960s. It's a funky hexagon shape with round inner, and shows no signs of its age.

A striking chunk of vintage art glass... It's 15cm tall x 4.9cm wide, weighs 588g and solid glass with a small round inner well suitable for holding a small bunch of short stemmed flowers. It's a vivid ruby red colour with a subtle floating submerged amber colour (sommerso), all cased in clear. Six-sided top rim and base (flat and polished) with six rectangular polished flat vertical sides.

It's all pretty much as it originally left the workshop, handmade by a skilled glassblower 50+ years ago. As good as you will find, excellent condition. Flat polished base with no signs of age - it's been very well looked after.

Ideal gift for a collector, great for a mid-century mantelpiece.
