Murano Alfredo Barbini yellow, white Alabastro stripe & amber cased art glass bowl/ashtray/dish. 1960s vintage Italian. Biomorphic/sommerso
A pure solid yellow, white stripe and clear amber cased Murano bowl, most likely by Alfredo Barbini. Vintage Italian, circa 1950s/1960s.
Rounded biomorphic shaped art glass dish with one fold in (would have been for resting a cigar/cigarette). Heavy chunky glass, about 1.5cm thick. Bright yellow inner then a thin and precise layer of sandwiched white, then an outer casing of clear amber glass. The white Italian milk glass is known as lattimo, or alabastro/opalina. It's a nicely made quality vintage piece by an artist. Rim is horizontal flat, but not quite a geode.
16 x 15.5 x 6.5cm... quite sizeable! A chunky 1.2kg.
Good vintage condition. Some small marks and signs of age but nothing major or jarring. No chips/fleebites. Some undulations/bumps in the yellow from time of manufacture, please see pics. Flat polished base shows the signs of age and era you would expect for a 1960s item.
Stunning! Perfectly displayable - ideal for a yellow themed retro room.
Price includes P&P to the UK.
