Mid century wood-like Cortendorf bull, made in West Germany. Ceramic? 1960s brown woodgrain paint/carved. MCM, retro figurine.

I think this is 1960s.
It's stamped underneath with 'Made in Western Germany'.
I believe it's Cortendorf or Erphila.

I think he's made of a ceramic-like plaster, but it's really well disguised as a carved, sculpted and painted soft wood. The paint is teak wood effect grain in a tan brown colour. And his face has darker brown low-lights. Hand painted and curious. Really can't tell what it's made of - very convincing wood grain pattern.

A few hard to see signs of age... He has a chip off the end of his tail unfortunately and there's a hairline line down his spine (fine scratch?). But even so, a lovely statement piece, perfect for show!
