Mid century teak antelope 13" wall hanging. Vintage 1960s/1970s retro wood. Wooden hand carved African impala/gazelle. 1970s statue figurine

A beautiful larger sized handmade antelope portrait wall hanging, from the 1960s or 1970s. Typically Mid Century Modern style and typical of 1970s interior home decor. Beautifully hand carved from one piece, with smooth tactile neck and nicely detailed head, with tall fragile antlers - all as intended and much nicer made than many.

Teak (distinctive dense reddy hardwood), skilfully carved from one piece. Deep natural sheen finish. Flat back with hole for a hanging hook. Probably African origin, in a Scandinavian MCM style.

Very nice, presentable, displayable example - and very well preserved for its age (40-50 years old). No breakages or splits or repairs. A sizeable and noticeable 33cm long x 14cm deep x 6cm wide.
