Mid century Babbacombe Pottery Colour Splash vase. 1962 small round 62/95 glossy studio art ceramic. Glossy rainbow pastel striped 1960s pot

A pretty little art pottery piece by Babbacombe Pottery, Torquay, Devon. It dates from 1962 and is model number 95 (scribed to the base).

The mid century vase or pot has a pastel coloured rainbow glaze called Colour Splash, the colours drip and melt into each other. It's glossy and smooth with vertical stripes of pastel pink, cornflower blue, primrose yellow, duck egg, and black. I believe the piece was glazed by Barret Priddoe of the Babbacombe Pottery. The red clay rounded vessel was handmade - thrown on a wheel.

Petite - 7.5cm tall x 4.5cm wide rim (7cm widest at the belly). Very good condition for the age with no chips. Hand incised to the base (logo has worn off).
