A lovely Mdina 'Ming' art glass square vase, from Malta...

The colouring is known as Sea and Sand (the colours were inspired by those perfect Mediterranean sandy beaches and turquoise coves), and it has the Ming stripe pattern - both attributed to Michael Harris who worked in Malta in the late 1960s to early 1970s. This is probably from the 1970s, and it's signed 'Mdina' to the base.

It's lightly cased teal (deep blue/green) with slightly twisted wide bands of gold internally - the pattern is on the inside and visible inside the rim. From the outside it's a teal colour with darker coloured stripes. It's a chunky heavy rounded cube shape with a narrow neck and wide circular rim. Being mouth blown/hand made, all these are different.

Apx 10cm x 10cm x 16.5cm tall. Weighs just over 1kg, a decent chunk.

Very good condition. There are some natural bubbles and formation lines in the glass from time of manufacture. A couple of small fine scratches together on one side. It's very tactile and beautiful!
