Maleras Mazzai face by Mats Jonasson, Sweden. Swedish Scandinavian Masq sculpture: cast crystal glass, hand-painted. Signed 75118 block, red

A fabulous art glass paperweight/ornament by Mats Jonasson, Maleras Glass, Sweden...

Handmade cast crystal sculpture with hand-painted reverse relief back in shades of deep red and pinks tones. Smooth flat front with original sticker. Hand signed to the base with model no 'MJ Sweden 75118'. It's from the Mazzai series, this colourway appears to be discontinued and hard to find. The design is recent, maybe early 2000s, so this is pre-loved contemporary.

A similar blue version is still available at Maleras, which reads: "MAZZAI, Protector of equality and cultural diversity. ALL ARE BORN EQUAL. Cast crystal sculpture with painted, engraved and sandblasted motif. Conscious of our environmental responsibilities, this sculpture has been hand-painted using organic colours. To preserve the beautiful finish of the piece, do not use strong cleaning agents and keep it away from strong direct sunlight. The product is handmade in Sweden and signed. Design Mats Jonasson."

In excellent condition. Looks to be as new and undisplayed. A good sized 13cm tall x 8.8cm x 6cm deep. It has an old faded price sticker to the base which has protected it. Signed to the flat polished base and maintains its original sticker to the front.
