A beautiful melamine serving tray. Dating from the 1960s or 1970s, it has an abstract vintage pattern - like a chalk or pastel sketch/drawing of stained glass.

Made by LangVa in Denmark. Stamped to the back with a light-hearted 'water, wine and spirit proof. Heat proof 69. Made in Denmark. Langva Melamine.' I wonder if this dates it to 1969 or if it is the number of the design. I can't find another like it.

It has a thin layer of melamine upper, over thin layers of formed moulded wood, like a pine. It is all sealed/treated. The smooth upper has a dull satin finish. Predominantly deep lime green with blue and off-white 'chalk drawings', and a splash of contrasting orange and yellow. There's a fine black geometric design drawn over it too.

Very good vintage condition. No cracks or chips, minimal surface marks. Round shallow drinks or dinner serving tray with raised edges - 32.3cm wide x 1cm deep.
