Kosta Boda Sunflower, vintage tealight candle holder/votive. Art glass, lead crystal. Goran Wärff 1970s/1980s. Swedish/Scandinavian + petals

A beautiful Kosta Boda Sunflower votive - a collectable art glass candle holder or small shallow bowl. A low-level non-footed version from the series.

Designed by Goran Warff in the 1970s, and handmade in Sweden. If you look from above you can see the sunflower shape; petals with a dotty textured inner round. The bobble texture is inside, smooth and rounded and bowl-like outside. This version doesn't have the usual stem-like base, just the flower head. I believe it's 24% lead crystal, so it's heavy and bright and clear, reflecting light beautifully. Could be up to 40 years old, circa 1970s-1990s vintage.

In excellent condition with no chips. Being handmade, these are all slightly different with varying petal lengths etc.

It varies from 5cm to 6.5cm high x 10.5cm wide. Suitable for both a tealight candle and a small pillar candle (holder area is 7m wide and lightly rounded), or just to bunch together with other Sunflowers. No maker's marks. Has a beautiful crystal 'ring' to it.
