A vintage Scandinavian solid glass paperweight from Finland - produced by iittala.

Designed by Valto Kokko in 1983, 'Kuutamo Tunturilla' translates as Moonlight Ideas. The paperweight depicts a deer (etched bottom left), looking to the full moon (3D bubble on the right hand side). It's against a rocky mountainous backdrop (vertical textures to the reverse). There's a deliberate gouge to the base, probably to look like a moon reflection on an ice-sheet or lake. Mid-century modern/Danish/Scandi in style. Circa 1980s vintage - the old triangular iittala sticker suggests this is an older one. This is one of the larger sizes available.

Molded clear bright glass, with a crystal content. Nicely made quality item. Smooth front at an angle, roughly a wedge shaped paperweight.

Good vintage condition. No chips. A few fine surface scratches to the front. The label's plastic has come off and left a faded version of the label as you can see. The base shows a few signs of age and has an imperfection (small indent). I'd give it an 8/10.
