Huge Murano faceted GEODE art glass bowl/dish. Vintage/retro turquoise & green. Mid century Mandruzzato style cut faces. Biomorphic sommerso

A huge and beautifully chunky Murano (Italian/Venetian) faceted geode from the 1960s.

This is a huge 2.2kg example. It's an impressive centre piece - 16.5cm x 16cm x 8cm. Green colour inner floating colour (sommerso), surrounded by a turquoise coloured glass outer casing. Mouth blown/hand made - possibly by Flavio Poli. Thick solid art glass in a biomorphic/organic shape. Flat thick polished rim (like a geode rock), 10 facets (cut faces), then it blends down into a rounded bowl towards the baseline. Deep rounded inner well. Solid thick glass is 3cm to 3.5cm thick. Flat polished base with the correct signs of age for 1960s vintage.

There are some small flaws (which are reflected in the price), but they're not overly noticeable as the piece is large and a statement. There's three small shell chips (no bigger than 4mm), two tucked in near the folds in, and one on the rim. There are some sharp edges with a couple of tiny fleabites, and one internal graze, probably all from manufacture. Internally it has some small natural bubbles - a trio of which are noticeable on the larger rounded outside edge. No obvious scratches, the rim is pretty good. Please study all photos. Overall, I'd give a 8/10 - impressive, collectable and displayable.
