Hornsea Heirloom butter dish, Midnight Blue. 1970s John Clappison. Retro/vintage 70s, Navy/dark Royal. Rectangular, lidded food storage bowl

A vintage Hornsea Heirloom rectangular lidded butter dish in Midnight blue, circa early 1970s.
John Clappison design. British made. Stamped to the base with the small black Hornsea logo (no date). Matte black pattern with very dark rich blue glossy glaze.

Please see all photos - you can see it's not perfect. It has some small chips and bites along the 3 of 4 baseline sides (where it meets the tabletop). There's one tiny chip hidden inside the rim. The lid looks excellent, just a small glazing flaw which catches the light as a small circle. The base of the dish has a couple of slither chips (white on white) which are hard to see. There's no obvious crazing. Some minimal silvery marks from cutlery or from wearing rings. Overall, it's okay for a collection, on a shelf - I'm not sure I would use it.

Apx 14.5cm long x 9cm tall x 9cm deep. Used vintage condition - I'd give it a 5.5/10 for condition, but I'm very picky. I wouldn't usually sell anything with chips, but it's a rare and good-looking item. Priced accordingly, please check all the photos.

All my prices include P&P to the UK!
