Holmegaard piggy bank, Jacob E Bang 1941. Vintage/retro dusky blue/grey glass kids money box. Molded & dimpled hollow pig figure.

A beautiful dark dusky blue grey Holmegaard piggy bank.
The design is attributed to Jacob E Bang, c1941.
I believe this little fellow is 1950s/60s. The later models didn't have the 3D raised tail.

Becoming increasingly scarce as the only way to empty them is to smash them!
Fab condition for age.
The inner slot for money is roughened with a sharp inner edge - from time of manufacture.

Molded glass. Love heart shaped snout, with hole (too small to get money out).
12 x 9cm - quite a good weight for size.

Excellent collectable example, in a funky contemporary colour way - perfect for a modern or mid-century home.
More for display for a grown-up than a child's toy - though would look fab out of reach in a nursery!
