Holmegaard piggy bank, Jacob/Michael Bang. Vintage/retro Cobalt/Bristol blue glass, kids money box. Moulded & dimpled hollow pig figurine.

A beautiful dark Bristol/Cobalt/Royal blue Holmegaard piggy bank.
The design is attributed to Jacob E Bang or Michael Bang for Holmgaard.
I believe this little fellow is 60s/70s vintage based on the design.

Becoming increasingly scarce as the only way to empty them is to smash them! Fab condition for age. Unused.
The inner slot for money is roughened internally - from time of manufacture. It's not been forced.

Moulded pressed glass - can see some lines from the original mould.
Love heart shaped snout (that's slightly pearlescent), with hole too small to get money out.
12 x 9cm.

Excellent collectable example, in a funky colour way - perfect for a modern or mid-century home.
More for display for a grown-up, than for a child's toy - although it would look fab out of reach in a nursery!
