Elis Bergh for Kosta, 1930s/1940s lobed and flared art glass bowl. Purple/lilac/amethyst dish, clear cased. Mid century MCM vintage crystal

A stunning art glass bowl by Elis Bergh for Kosta, Sweden, from the 1930s or 1940s. It's a large 6-lobed bowl, flaring out to a flower like shape with 6 subtle 'petals'. It's signed/numbered to the base - hard to read - but looks like B2722.

A beautiful lilac/pale purple colouring cased in clear glass at the base. Looks more contemporary than its war-time era, not dissimilar to a Whitefriars.

22cm x 9cm tall. A hefty and tactile 2.1kg (so postage to the UK only, sorry). It's heavy and undoubtedly has a crystal content.

Excellent condition for age, as good as you will find! Just a few age related marks and bites to the baseline.


Between 1928 and 1950 Elis (aka Hagbard Elias Bergh) was the artistic leader of Kosta glass mill. As an artistic director he stood for the graceful yet modern design that characterized Kosta's production during the interwar period. Elis Bergh designed a lot of glassware, including "Karlberg" and "Kulla", also items such as vases and other ornaments.
