Dartington Frank Thrower FT194 clear glass vase. Textured square art glass crystal block, 1974. Handmade ice Textured Flower Box 50mm, 1970s

A vintage 1970s textured vase, designed by Frank Thrower and hand made at Dartington, Devon, England. The design originated in 1974 and was made until 1980. It is FT194 which was referred to as the 'Textured Flower Box'. It's the narrow (50mm) version of the design.

It has a lightly bobbled/pitted/icy textured surface on all four flat faces, with similar proportions to a Whitefriars small nailhead vase. It also reminds me of the Timo Sarpaneva range of textured vases for iittala.

Bright clear crystal content glass that looks stunning on display. 137mm x 47mm x 49mm - a square block vase. Very good condition. The tiniest of tiny fleebites on the rim.
