Carstens Tönnieshof 7653-25 West German pottery Reptile vase/jug/pitcher. Dieter Peter tan/ochre. Vintage retro 1960s/1970s fat lava Keramik

A lovely textured 'fat lava' era jug/pitcher vase by Carstens Tönnieshof, West Germany. Satin ochre/light tan coloured glaze with 'reptile' 3D textured lower part, designed by Dieter Peter. It has a series of curves, craters, indents - random and organic, like reptile skin. Apx 1960s vintage. Glossy dark brown inner. Stamped on base with Carstens logo - but that is all you can make out (text illegible). Shape and height no 7653-25 - the 25 denotes 25cm tall. 12cm wide. A good size, and heavy and sturdy - suitable for a dozen tall statement stems, or as a small floor vase.
