Caithness Morven decanter by Domhnall OBroin #4025 Soot (smoke grey). Vintage glass lidded bottle/barware Scottish retro. 1960s/1970s/1980s

A lovely and elegant smoke grey glass decanter, designed by Domhnall OBroin in 1964 for Caithness, Scotland. Design is 'Morven', as per page 38 of Mark Hill's Caithness Glass book. (Please see photo of the extract from the book with further details about the design.) This colour is Soot - a beautiful light pewter grey colour with a slight hue of blue (in some lights in looks quite bluey). It's cased in clear glass. This design was produced until 1988, so circa late 60s/70s/80s. Distinctive angular shoulders and straight lines - fabulous classy design. This design of stopper also doubles up as a shot glass.

Quality item in excellent condition. Brilliant collectable and displayable example. Harder to find 'Soot' colourway. Most are 'Peat' - the colours had to compliment the whiskey contents!

Apx 26x11cm. 1kg.
