An amazing vintage boxed full lead crystal hedgehog paperweight, designed by Mats Jonasson for Royal Krona, Sweden. It's dated from quite precisely between 1974 and 1977. As you can see, it comes with its original paper label on the reverse and is fully signed to the base, it also comes with an original retro information leaflet, original foam wrapping and its original vintage box - a rare find!

He has a flat smooth back, and a textured and etched/sand-blasted curled up hedgehog figure to the front (or you could display it the other way round!). Signed to the base: 'RK 33148.6.MJ' - RK is Royal Krona, 33148.6 is the hedgehog model number, MJ is Mats Jonasson. Mats joined the Royal Krona group in 1974 and Kosta Boda took over in 1977, so it's more unusual to find one of his mid 1970s paperweights from Royal Krona. He also worked at Meleras, Kosta, Kosta Boda and Mats Jonasson Maleras.

Virtually perfect condition. A petite 7.5 x 5.5 x 2.5cm.

He's one of the slightly 3D flat backed animal paperweight figurines, typical of Mats Jonasson. Perfect gift idea for a collector!
