Boda pair crystal glass ashtrays/dishes/bowls or tealight candle holders. Vintage made in Sweden design Rolf Sinnemark. Clear ice cube two

A lovely matching pair of Boda (later became Kosta Boda) melting ice ashtrays, or small bowls/dishes, coin trays, or tealight candle holders. They're boxed and date from around the 1970s. Design by Rolf Sinnemark, ref no 73912.

They're both freeform square shaped, crystal content bright clear glass (heavy for the size). They resemble a slightly melting icecube, with smooth top and sides. Two diagonal indents for a cigarette/cigar. They were probably mouth blown into a mould, they're different heights due to the handmade and hand finishing nature of the production. Quite petite. Bases are a series of linear round dimples (5x5), which adds to the icy effect by catching the light.

Apx 7x7cm each. 4cm tall. Box is typical of the era with a fab retro feel. Not bad condition for age.

The round (lightly curved) centre of each dish is 4.5cm wide, perfect size for a tealight candle. A multi-purpose pair of small dishes or ashtrays, perfect for a retro/mid century/Scandinavian home.
