Bjorn Wiinblad for Rosenthal, 1960s small porcelain vase. Studio-line Germany, Arundo vintage vase. Commedia dell' Arte series, musicians
A small white porcelain vase, produced by Rosenthal Studio-Line (Germany), with stylised design by Bjorn Wiinblad.
The shape of the vase is 'Arundo' and it's stamped on the base with both the logo and a no 27.
I believe it's from the Commedia dell' Arte series, and the imagery depicts two musicians, one with a flute, the other with a lute like string instrument. They're brightly coloured with gold trim. The sitting figure looks to be a jester/harlequin, while the flamboyant woman wears a big dress and hat.
It's 12cm tall - suitable for a small bunch of flowers, or just for display.
Circa early 1960s.
Great condition with no chips or cracks.
The reverse has a manufacturing flaw to the rim where the white glaze did not cover - see photos.
