Bitossi vase, Aldo Londi for Scandinavia V17/25. Rimini Blu blue flowers pottery, Thai Silk style. Vintage 1960s mid century Italian ceramic

A beautiful Bitossi pottery vase designed by Aldo Londi - this is a hard to find flower decor in the Rimini Blu colours which I believe was made specifically for the Scandinavian market. It dates from the 1960s to 1970s mid century era. Signed to the base 'V17/25 Italy'.

A larger-sized ceramic vase, made from their typical rough clay/stoneware, with a straight-sided cylindrical body and curvy neck and flared rim. An impressed flower design infilled with lime greens and darker blues, along with dotted line bands. All typical of this and similar designs by Londi - the design is similar to 'Thai Silk' but I don't think it is named. Shades of blues and turquoises, like Mediterranean seas. Handmade and rustic in feel and nature.

Very good condition - these are very prone to glaze flakes and chips due to the rough clay - but this example is very good with just a few, hard to see, tiny dots of missing glaze. I've not cleaned it as the glazes are fragile. A good sized statement 26cm tall x 10cm wide (8cm rim).

Price includes P&P to the UK.
