Bitossi Moresco vase by Aldo Londi. Lime green Moorish, handmade & signed 4915. Italian, made in Italy. Vintage mid century, 1960s pottery.

A beautiful Bitossi (Italy) pottery jug vase... The shape and decor were designed by Aldo Londi back in 1963. The decor is Moresco (Moorish) and was produced until 1970.

A harder to find 1960s range, in the more unusual glossy lime green and manganese-brown. The design has impressed stylised foliate and diamond motifs along the glazed central band, with rough textured brown glazed top and bottom. Inspired by motifs and colours of Moorish tiles. It has a band of incised 'u' and 'n' motifs below the band of colour. This one is hand signed with '4915 Italy'.

Handmade and hand painted and finished, they're all unique pieces. This is a chunky 21cm tall x 19cm widest x 16cm diameter, weighs 1.58kg.

Good vintage condition - as manufactured with its deliberate scrapes and indentations over a rough clay. As is common with these rough glazes, there are multiple small flakes of missing glaze - please study all photos. The specks of missing glaze are on the manganese-brown: mostly along the handle lines, rim line and lower circumference line. Even so, it's a good collectable example with a great ping of colour.

Price includes P&P via courier.
