A beautiful Bitossi bird or dove. Designed by Aldo Londi, in one of the less common Rimini colour variations.
I think the shape dates from the 60s but this decor looks to be 'Sahara' (as per Mark Hill's Alla Moda book, p64) which was 1970s.
A hard to find bird in this colourway.

No chips or crazing, very good condition.
A few sharp edges from time of manufacture - beak is sharp but I'm pretty sure it isn't chipped.
Not stamped or signed to base, but definitely Bitossi.

Hand painted and finished, a unique piece.
Smooth glazed outer surfaces with distinctive Bitossi indented stamps and patterns.
Colours - dark cream base with brown wash and brown/black lines with an orange splash around the neck.
Very hand made in feel and nature.

Apx 22 x 16.5cm. Exactly 1kg.
