Arcopal Harlequin 6 opal small cups & saucers. Vintage/retro 1960s. French Opale glass set. Espresso coffee cups. Pastels pearlescent + gold
A really pretty set of six small Arcopal cups and saucers (French Pyrex style). Milky white opal pressed glasswear, coated in 6 opalescent pastel shades with gold gilt trims. I think the design originated in 1958, so circa 1960s vintage. Made in France. Small coffee cups, ideal for those stronger French Press style coffees or an espresso on a Sunday morning.
Colours are pale pink, pale yellowy cream, pale green, pale blue/grey, pale blue and peach - please see photos, they're very subtle pale shades. The nature of the Arcopal glassware design means these are durable - suitable for dishwasher.
Very good vintage condition. No chips or nibbles or obvious scratches. Gold gilt trims are worn on most pieces, see photos. Being pressed glass there are some natural imperfections, and some inconsistencies in the pastel colour application (streaks inside the pink one).
Each cup is a smaller 7.2cm diameter (excl handle) x 4cm tall.... a small size. Saucers are 11.2cm wide. Apx 100ml capacity.
Perfect for a Sunday morning in your retro 1950s or 1960s styled kitchen or garden!
