32cm Mid century teak stylised bird duck swan. Modernist sculpture, hand carved wood, handmade. Probably Danish Scandinavian. Retro figurine

A fabulous 32cm tall mid-century hand carved teak bird or duck or swan. Probably Danish origin, though it is unsigned (remnants of paper sticker to base). Skilfully handmade from one piece of teak. Circa 1960s vintage - modernist and minimalist in style.

The hardwood has a dark reddy tone, with a natural lightly oiled finish - smooth and tactile with a slight sheen. Most likely teak. I'm unsure as what breed of bird it is - probably a stylised mix of all birds.

He's a large size - 31.6cm tall x 4.3cm deepest. Very good natural condition. Amazingly, no chips or splinters. A few light marks to his body and top of his head. Unsigned.

Perfect for a mid-century inspired interior as a large stand-alone display piece. Great for a collector of more unusual vintage teak carvings - photos don't do him justice!
