A large and striking heavy pressed glass vase designed by Frantisek Vizner for Hermanova Glassworks in 1965, model no 20082.

This is likely to be late 1960s or 1970s vintage. It's known as a 'Maze' vase and it shows random vertical and horizontal lines forming a puzzle-like pattern. The design also shows Vizner's love of simple geometric forms decorated with strong surface elements. Thick clear pressed glass, it's tall and cylindrical (slightly tucking in at the base); the lines stick out and are tactile and rounded - a very eye-catching design and shape in a Brutalist/Modernist style.

This is the largest version of the vase (I also have the smaller one). 25cm tall x 10cm wide at the rim. Weighs a very hefty 1.6kg. Typical Sklo base.

Excellent collectable example.
