A vintage original classic 3x3 Rubik's Cube, dating from when it was first sold by the Ideal Toy Company in the UK. Invented in 1975 by Hungarian Ernő Rubik, this was sold internationally from 1980 and went on to win many awards that year. Today it is the world's best selling puzzle game and toy.

The accompanying leaflet dates from 1980 and the box dates from 1983, so I think we can safely say it's from 1983. Made under license by the Ideal Toy Company, Berkshire. On this original classic Rubik's Cube, each of the six faces is covered by nine stickers in white, red, blue, bright orange, green, and yellow. The white centre sticker bears the old Rubik's logo.

Cube is excellent - hardly been used and still quite stiff from not being played with. It comes boxed. Only one sticker orange looks to have moved, shown. It's 5.5cm cubed. The box/tub is a bit aged (see photos - it cost £3.40 back in 1983).
