A super Danish design bookmark by Bent Knudsen dating from 1971.
Bent Knudsen (b.1924) and his wife Anni started a silversmiths in 1956, having worked with Hans Hansen for 10 years. He established his own workshop where he created jewellery in a simple and clear style, often with his wife. He is a noted and important mid century Danish silver designer. Most of his pieces available today are beautiful simple stylish jewellery which command high ££.
This bookmark is a very simple flat fork-like form with three prongs which straddle the pages to mark your place. It's hallmarked [copyright symbol] 'Sterling Silver Denmark Bent K 71' followed by the DSD 'Danish Silver Design' logo showing quality and craftsmanship, then smaller hallmarks for London import, 925 sterling silver and 'q' for 1971.
59 x 24mm and weighs 11 grams. Very nice condition with a few tiny signs of its 52 years.
