A stylish Brutalist/Modernist 1971 hallmarked Sterling Silver bracelet...

The hinged bracelet is typically early 1970s - with a Modernist simple straight-sided shape and Brutalist inspired texture. It's fully hallmarked 'CPS' (the maker) then the anchor and lion stamps for Birmingham and sterling silver, and the date letter 'W', along with 'Sterling'. The opposite half also has the lion and the 'W' date stamp (along with EJ Ltd stamp). Made by CPS Jewellery Co Ltd, the English sterling silver is 925 grade. Look at the gorgeous linear pattern - it has random vertical bark or scratch-like engraved marks which catch the light.

Externally, it's is around 6 x 6cm and 19.5cm long - a standard fit. Internally the closed oval measures about 5.8 x 5.6cm. It's 13mm high x 1mm deep. Please check that it should fit you (not adjustable). It weighs 27 grams and the silver is solid. Slimline, flat and elegant, this would suit a slim to average female wrist. It's hinged in to two halves with a simple design that opens and locks together easily. Two hoops remain from an old safety chain - making it now easier to get on and off.

Very good vintage condition, looks beautiful on. Nicely presentable, simple, classy, retro, and a perfect gift idea... awesome 50th birthday present. (It's my 50th this year, and receiving this thoughtful gift would just make my year!).
