1970s retro wine cooler/chiller. Spong ViniCool 1979 green cooling holder, Champagne/Prosecco/Cava/wine. Plastic, no ice. Dining/Barware

A retro 1970s or 1980s vivid green wine cooler/chiller.
The clever patented design relies on the wine already being chilled, and the double glazed insulation of the holder simply maintains the chilled temperature. No ice required. It was one of those 80s gadgets that many households had - ours was vivid red. Perfect for the dinner table and for entertaining! In a more unusual and hard to find colour way.

Made from two layers of plastic, the void between the two cleverly keeps your bottles at the correct temperature, for hours. The registered design number dates the wine cooler from 1979. The base reads: 'ViniCool, BR Reg Design 991271, Pats Pending, Made in England'. Others like this have the branding Spong, but I think this is an earlier version. (The patent was later approved and is Patent No UK APP 2057249).

It's a brighter more retro green than the photos show, emerald green maybe.
23.5cm x 12cm (apx).
Good but used condition - some marks on the plastic.
Perfect for a TV set, retro photoshoot, mancave, or retro green themed room. Very cool.
(May not fit all Champagne bottles if they're particularly fat).
Bottle just to show scale, not included, obviously.
