Here's a stylish Modernist 1970s hallmarked Sterling Silver bracelet... perfect for a birthday.

The hinged bracelet is typical of that retro era - a Modernist simple shape with retro geometric texture. It's hallmarked inside: 'WJJ' (for the designer/maker or sponsor/distributor or importer or retailer), then a 925 mark within scales (common control mark, sterling grade silver), then 925 within a circle, and a rose for the Sheffield assay office. It is also stamped with another '925' sterling mark. The marks suggest it was made abroad and imported then stamped in Sheffield from 1973 onwards. I'd guess at late 1970s vintage.

The retro linear pattern has long diamond-shaped soft cuts which catch the light beautifully. The bangle is round with a straight inner edge and rounded outer shaping.

It's around 18.5cm long internally when fastened, by 7mm deep - a standard female adult sizing. The circle is 6.5 x 6.5cm. Please check that it should fit you (not adjustable). It weighs 10 grams. Slimline and elegant, this would suit a more petite wrist. It's hinged in two halves - a simple design that locks together beautifully. There's a fine safety chain holding the two halves together.
