An old original Bernard Buffet print of 'Suburban Street' which dated from 1952.

The line drawing depicts a French road with a few buildings, telegraph poles, with lovely hashed line shading and great perspective/balance. The black line-art print is on a shiny and smooth waxed card (or plastic coated paper) and is framed in a simple mid century black wooden frame. It was framed at the time (1950s) by Phoenix Picture Gallery from Temple Bar, London - the old 4-digit phone number also suggests that it is a 1950s print. The inner print area (picture) is 36 x 28cm.

The shallow slim frame is painted black wood. It has a hanging wire to the back, along with the framer's sticker etc. The outer frame is 46 x 37.5 x 2cm.

Good vintage condition - see photos. The waxed card is naturally faded to a nice neutral cream. The card has a few small imprints and marks, and the print has a splinter to one side, shown, that has been touched up. The piece shows a few small signs of its 70 years' age.

Perfect for a collector of mid century art, a lovely mid-sized piece that would compliment a retro interior.
