An unusual and heavy thick glass Mdina bowl (or large ashtray).
The technique/design was down to Michael Harris in Malta in the late 60s through the 70s. I suspect this is an early example.
The base has a splodges and swirls of a really vivid teal/turquoise blue with a streaks of goldy paint - sea and sand.
All cased in thick clear glass. Natural bubbles and layering. Ocean like. Different from every angle!
Mouth blown/hand made. Flat clean polished base, see photos.
Bottom 2/3 is all coloured, top 1/3 is clear glass.

About 5" wide x 7cm high.
Weighs a chunky 1kg (well a few grams under).

Great condition with hardly any signs of age!

A stunning unusual addition for any Mdina collector and stunning against the sunlight.
